Path of the suspension bridges in Chulilla

The path of the suspension bridges of Chulilla, also known as the Ruta de los Pantaneros, is a very interesting option for all hiking lovers. Walk through this natural environment that surrounds this town that is located in the Turia River Canyon (Cañón del río Turia), in the Valencian Community.

Chulilla has a long history, especially since it is a village dating back to medieval times. If you take a close look around you, you will see many old secrets hiding in its surroundings. The natural environment that surrounds Chulilla is what makes this location a place worth visiting. To see most of its nature, there are two simple but beautiful hiking trails. Both trails are easy and don’t require much hiking experience, so anyone can do it.

The starting point of the most famous trail, which takes you along the suspension bridges, is located on the dam of the Loriguilla reservoir. This hike begins through the interior of the Turia Canyon, for approximately 6 km. One of the main characteristics of this trail, apart from seeing the famous suspension bridges, are the walls that stand 80 meters high, they surround the path on both sides. The walls are often carefully climbed by experienced climbers.

Despite being a simple and accessible trail for everyone, it is important to take precautions so that everything goes as planned. These precautions are wearing suitable clothing and footwear and carrying a backpack with water and some food. We recommend you to do the trail at times of the year when it’s not too hot and always avoid doing the trail in central sunny hours. If you follow these guidelines then the trail will be a guaranteed success. In case you want to do another trail, you can always do the Charco Azul, which takes place in the same area as the suspension bridge trail.
