How to apply for a student visa for the United States

In this article we will tell you how to apply for a Visa to study abroad in the United States. Here we will list the documents that you will need to apply and hopefully we can make the application process easier to save you time!
Have you ever thought of going to the United States to study? Then you should know about the Student Visa that you need to enter the country. There are two types of visas that allow you to enter and study in North America, depending on what kind of studies you intend on doing. For academic studies you will need an F-1 Visa, but if you are carrying out extracurricular, non-academic or vocational studies, you will be asked for an M-1 Visa.
In order to do an exchange in the United States, you have to meet a series of requirements. First you have to be enrolled as a full-time student and in an academic program such as an undergraduate, postgraduate, language course or a professional study, in an institution approved by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. It is necessary to have sufficient knowledge of the English language or to be enrolled in a course that will teach you. It is also vital to show that you have enough money to support yourself for the duration of your studies and that you have the intention of leaving the United States at the end of your studies.

If you meet all the requirements and you have been accepted at the institution of your choice, these are the documents that you have to submit:
• Form I-20
• Certificate of Eligibility for nonimmigrants
• Proof of a language course or vocational course
• SEVIS I-20 provided by your institution and signed by you and the representative
• Non-Immigrant Visa Electronic Applications Form
• A passport which validates a minimum of 6 months after the intended period of stay for the student
• One 2x2 inches photograph of you
• Transcriptions and diplomas of all previously completed studies
• English level score sheet of TOEFL, SAT, IELTS and GRE
• Bank statement, bank accounts and tax records to demonstrate financial aid.

You should also pay the Visa application fee and the SEVIS I-901 fee, and take the receipts with you. You will be appointed to an interview with the United States Embassy or Consulate. We know the procedure is a bit dull, but it will be worth it in the end. Doing your studies abroad is an experience that will change you forever and an experience you will never forget!
