Teruel guards much of the history of Spain within its walls, so it’s not surprising that when you visit it, you will fall in love with its characteristic architecture.

One of the obligatory stops that everyone should visit in Teruel, is the “neo-mudéjar” staircase. It is a staircase built in the 20th century with a truly impressive Mudejar style.



It is located next to the train station. If you’re not physically able to climb all the stairs, it is important to know that there is an elevator on the right-hand side of the staircase.

As in any medieval city, you will find towers. In Teruel, there are many of them, but the most beautiful in architectural details is the Salvador Tower. The tower has a Mudejar style that predominates the city.



One of the most named love stories in Spain is without a doubt the “Lovers of Teruel”. Everyone has heard of this unique story at least once in their lifetime. The story follows two teenagers from Teruel who end up being separated by fate and dying of love as a consequence.

Despite not being able to live together, they were buried together when they died. Their bodies are currently in the Mausoleum below the Church of San Pedro. It’s close to the plaza del Torico, which is another place you should check out.
