Games to play during quarantine

Although being at home may not be the most fun thing in the world, we can still make time go quicker. Have fun with these board game suggestions and apps for Android and iOS phones.

As we all know, the government has decreed quarantine and we must stay at home for at least 14 days, due to the COVID-19 virus. Staying inside for so long without sunbathing, getting air or simply interacting with others, can make us feel depressed or tired throughout the day. Opening the windows or going out on the balcony is one good alternative. Here's a selection of board games and apps to avoid boredom.

Let's start with the classic board games, the ones that we all have at home and know the rules. Ludo, Game of the Goose and Monopoly are all good choices to play between four people and hang out without having to think too much. If you love letters or general knowledge questions, Scrabble, Scattergories and Trivial pursuit will be the games for you. For those who enjoy strategy, Risk is an option, and if you want to train your brain, you can play chess.

For those who do not have these board games, or are simply tired of them, we offer you imaginative games, where there is no maximum number of participants, so they are ideal if you are with many at home. An example is to guess professions, a game in which a member has to guess the profession being carried out by another member through gestures.

Another option, more in line with current times, and which we all have unlike board games, is mobile phone games. Mobile phone applications offer us all kinds of games, both individual and multiplayer. In addition to the classics named above, they also have new features. Another advantageous feature is the ability to play with friends who are far away from you, through Wi-Fi. Addictive games like Candy Crush, Clash Royale or Angry Birds are classics. Others are Brain Test, in which we will go through a series of fun tests that will measure our IQ, or if ours is the excitement, we have the Mario Kart game where you spend hours of thrilling races.

As you can see there are many ways to kill boredom during these weeks of quarantine. We assure you that there are other ways to pass the time. We will be sharing our tips and tricks in the upcoming articles, so cheer up!
