El Garbí and La Mola, a must for hiking lovers

Within the Valencian Community are two very iconic mountains to see: El Garbí and La Mola. The most interesting thing about this hike trail are the stunning views, since you can see the Sierra Calderón as well as the beautiful Gulf of Valencia from both viewpoints along the trail. This trail promises to be visually spectacular.

If you’re a true hiking lover then you must do this route at least once in your life. On this path you’ll come across roads and stony paths and at certain points it will be necessary to climb a small part.

About 40 kilometers from Valencia is the town that gave the mountain its name, La Mola de Segart town. This picturesque town is located in the Sierra Calderón, where you can recognise the characteristic family atmosphere of authentic towns.

The distance from the town to the top of La Mola is approximately 6 kilometers, in which the positive elevation of 266 meters must be overcome. It is not a huge difference, this is because the start of the route begins in Segart town that is around 300 meters above sea level, so the top of La Mola would originally be around 566 meters.

As previously mentioned, the views at the top of this hike are phenomenal.. From there on you can see the Gulf of Valencia in great detail, the foothills of the Maestrazgo, the Turia valley and even the mountains themselves. Cities like Castellón and Valencia can be seen as well. It goes without saying that you will need clear skies on the day you hike your way up, otherwise it will be difficult to spot anything at all.

This trail is suitable for all audiences, but you should bear in mind that at certain points itgets a little steep, therefore it would be advisable for people with knee problems or little physical strength to think twice about this hike.
